Meet Dr. Richard W. McCann

How I Found Chiropractic
Some careers choose you back. Mine started with a weightlifting injury in college. I’d never been to a chiropractor, and honestly, I was nervous. But after a few visits, I could stand up straight again, move without wincing, and get back to my normal life. That experience flipped a switch for me, and it changed my path.
Why My Approach Feels Different
I enrolled at Life University, and early on, I had a moment that made everything click. Hearing Dr. Sid speak helped me understand the philosophy behind chiropractic care in a simple way: reduce interference, help the body function better, and let it do what it’s designed to do. It just made sense.
Today, patients often tell me they notice a few things right away. I listen carefully. I’m patient. I explain what I’m seeing in plain language, so you’re not left guessing. I also use a gentler adjustment style, not the “rough” approach some people expect, which can feel like a relief, especially if you’re new to chiropractic.
Families, Kids, and Active People Welcome
I care for a wide range of people, from kids and parents to grandparents and active adults. I also enjoy helping athletes who want their bodies to function at a higher level, not only when something hurts, but when performance and movement quality matter. When needed, care may include extremity adjustments and therapies like electrical stimulation with heat.
One thing I want every patient to feel is this: there’s no pressure here. I’ll share options and recommendations, but the decision is always yours. As I often tell patients, “The ball is in your court,” and you won’t be judged for choosing what fits your life.
A Little More About Me
Outside the office, I’m big on family, faith, and staying active. You’ll usually find me in the gym, at a men’s Bible study, or cheering on my sons at their sporting events.
